Meet our Staff!
Karen MacLoed- Pastry Chef
Karen MacLoed is a native of Cape Breton who
currently lives in Riverview with her wonderful family of four. She graduated
from NSC C/ NSIT cooking school with a Red Seal. Karen did her apprentice at
the Halifax Sheraton Hotel, where she worked with many European chefs. She
then pursued her cooking career at many renowned hotels in Toronto, including
the boutique hotel Waterside Inn as the Banquet Chef.
After ten years of the big
city life, the opportunity came for Karen and her family to move back to the
Maritimes. Karen finally returned to her passion of fine pastry when, in
November of 2007, she started working with Tony Holden. Karen is honoured to be
working with such an accredited pastry chef. Her creativity, passion and talent
truly show with each pastry endeavour she encounters.
Iola Rands- Chef
Iola Rands, the most recent
member of the Tony’s Pastries staff, has come to us with over twenty years of
experience in the food and beverage/ tourism industry. She first began her
passion for food at NBCC, where she graduated from the cooking program. Iola
has worked in world renowned hotels, such as the Jasper Park Lodge in Alberta.
Iola holds the most honourable title of becoming the first ever junior female
sous chef in CN hotels. She currently resides in Moncton with her husband and
has a son who attends university in British Columbia. Iola’s passion for food
and pastry has shown through her work at Tony’s Pastries.
Brittany Humes- Customer
Service and Pastry Assistant
Brittany Humes graduated from
Harrison Trimble High School in 2008 and has continued into the workforce at
Tony’s Pastries, where her passion is decorating cakes and desserts. She has
experience in customer service as she has worked at the Marché Moncton Market
for many years. Brittany adds her own sweet touch to each dessert she prepares.
Brittany lives in Dieppe with her sister and parents and enjoys socializing with
her friends, running and learning and playing the fiddle at Guivio Music School.
Daniella Dupoint- Customer
Service and Pastry Assistant
Daniella Dupoint currently
attends Atlantic Baptist University in Moncton where she is taking a Bachelor of
Arts in psychology. She enjoys decorating desserts and learning the art of
pastry. Daniella also enjoys helping customers and adding her own touch to
desserts and lunches. She spends her time socializing with friends and family,
studying and playing the guitar. Her outgoing and positive personality surely
adds to the fun atmosphere at Tony’s Pastries.
Janelle Doucet- Customer
Service and Pastry Assistant
Janelle Doucet will be
graduating from Moncton High School in the spring of 2009. She is part of the
DancEast Young Company, at Dance East dance school located in Moncton. When she
is not dancing or performing, Janelle is studying or working at Tony’s Pastries.
In the fall, she plans to attend the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton.
Her passion for creating pastries and working with customers has proven that she
is a talented young individual.
Mallory Belzile- Customer
Service and Pastry Assistant
Mallory Belzile will be
graduating from Moncton High School in 2009, with hopes in pursuing a Bachelor
of Science at Dalhousie University in Halifax. She is a successful dancer in the
DancEast Young Company at Dance East in Moncton. She spends each Saturday
working at the Marché Moncton Market at the Tony’s Pastries booth. Her kind and
outgoing personality creates an inviting atmosphere for each customer. She has
learned a great deal about the art of pastry from Tony’s Pastries.
Bethany Hebert- Customer
Service and Pastry Assistant
Bethany Hebert will graduate
from Moncton High School in 2009. She is the longest employed staff member at
Tony’s Pastries. She has shown that she has learned a great deal about the art
of pastry since her very first shift on opening day. She has learned how to
create an array of fine French pastries, but her favourite thing to do is create
chocolate garnishes for cakes and desserts. Bethany spends her time attending
school sporting events, socializing with friends, reading and studying. Bethany
most definitely creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere at Tony’s Pastries with
her kind and funny personality. |
